Traditional Saturday supper in New England

Unusually hot weather, as in 86 degrees, meant no interest in Saturday soup, so as I was topping up on a few grocery items @ Price Rite, I chanced upon a sale on a brand of hotdogs that I buy (I am a self confessed hotdog snob), adding 2 pkgs to the shopping cart. L/O calico beans completed the meal, simple but good.

While I am a hotdog snob, too, my favorites are the old-type red kind that are not healthy. As it turns out, anything with the beef makes me ill. So, maybe my body knew what was best. I rarely eat hotdogs! Soup weather is over here!

Hot dog snobs, unite! I have one brand and only one brand I will buy. Fortunately Publix has them BOGO every 6 weeks or so and hot dogs freeze well.
