Planning ahead: defrosting and prepping some meat for the upcoming week
So far this month, I've spent the following on groceries:
I normally would have $300 for groceries, $100 for restaurant. Almost 20 days into the month, we've done well. Restaurant is higher than I'd like (would prefer $0) but reality finds me running around, meeting contractors, the bank, etc as I approach my upcoming home purchase. I had hoped to keep this total at $200, so I have $87.67 left this month (10 days). I anticipate needing milk, 1/2 & 1/2, butter, tortillas and hotdog buns (plan on trying to make them, using my recently found hamburger bun recipe that we really liked)
Every purchase is a conscious one as each penny saved can go towards my remodeling, as I am scrambling to finalize costs, come up with priority list and then figure out how to pay for it.
