Planning ahead: defrosting and prepping some meat for the upcoming week

My menu calendar has been checked, and I've pulled some meats out of the freezer for the upcoming week. Sundried tomato, Italian sausages are now defrosted and stored in the meat drawer. The blue covered tub contained a pkg of BSCB that I marinated in the remains of some Italian dressing, baked it off in the mini convection oven.
It will be sliced for sandwiches and to top luncheon salads. The foil package above contains 1/2 of a roast turkey breast, again to be sliced for sandwiches as well as to top salads for lunches. Really holding tight on the purse strings.

So far this month, I've spent the following on groceries:

grocery: $80.66

I normally would have $300 for groceries, $100 for restaurant. Almost 20 days into the month, we've done well. Restaurant is higher than I'd like (would prefer $0) but reality finds me running around, meeting contractors, the bank, etc as I approach my upcoming home purchase. I had hoped to keep this total at $200, so I have $87.67 left this month (10 days).  I anticipate needing milk, 1/2 & 1/2, butter, tortillas and hotdog buns (plan on trying to make them, using my recently found hamburger bun recipe that we really liked)

Every purchase is a conscious one as each penny saved can go towards my remodeling, as I am scrambling to finalize costs, come up with priority list and then figure out how to pay for it.

When we bought our house - we also spent more than we wanted to on "take out" - we stuck to sub sandwiches though - we had no fridge in the new house - bought one at Home Depot - so during the cleaning up/fixing up portion - we relied on ready to eat at the supermarket as well as a sandwich place (while waiting for fridge to be delivered).
