Pantry/freezer challenge 2017: spaghetti sauce over pasta

The Crock pot has a batch of spaghetti sauce cooking away.

Ingredients:
29 oz can tomato puree, no salt
pint home canned, organic tomatoes, no salt
sliced, fresh mushrooms
chopped celery
fzn peppers and onions
2 links sweet Italian sausage, browned
1/2 link hot Italian sausage, browned
Italian herb blend
black pepper
Bay leaf




The sauce will be served atop a choice of regular or gluten free penne pasta, topped with Parmesan as desired.

Steamed broccoli crowns complete the dinner.

That looks so good! I love to eat pasta sauce in a bowl without noodles..lol

Bought a small "chub" of the pork sausage at DT. DH came up with the idea of using it in spaghetti sauce, and adding extra fennel and Italian seasoning. Came out really well.
