January groceries, talking produce choices
After school this week, I stopped at Price Rite downtown and grabbed a few items: more cloves (they had plenty, good to know!)
2 % milk, Lactaid milk 1/2 & 1/2, yogurt
large tub of organic baby salad greens, celery, huge bunch of Swiss chard, parsnips. I also bought 2 lbs of FL strawberries.
Here is my produce drawer prior to shopping: a bit of celery, several lemons, a tube of dill weed, brussels sprouts, Savoy cabbage, a bit of red cabbage, an open red and an open yellow onion, 5 lbs carrots.
Add: a pkg of Romaine hearts. This is a typical Winter fresh produce drawer here. I also have a bowl in the bay window with some Canadian hot house tomatoes, a plate with some Navel oranges and Texas red grapefruit. a basket of marked down, though still perfectly fine!, Granny Smith apples.
