An early birthday celebration

After learning that DD has plans and will be away next weekend, we decided to go out to a celebratory dinner last night. 3 of my 4 kids were able to attend; a casual affair, we simply went overe to a local diner. I had crab cakes, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, salad and treated myself to a slice of carrot cake, which they bake on the premises. Dd had a fried fish combo, French fries, salad a spinach/rice side dish; DS # 2 had a Moussaka filled omelette, home fried potatoes, Rye toast. Ds # 3 had Chicken francaise over penne, salad and an order of French fries. Food was good, reasonably priced. DS # 2 finished his plate while the rest of us took food home. I got 2 meals out of mine, as did DS, DD will get 3.

With disparate tastes, going out satisfies everyone. I love to bring home another meal or two. Sometimes, that is the best part, getting food for the next day.
