and she's here!

I waited 30 years to replace my 4 poster bed with yet another, Ethan Allen bed. Solid wood, it should last me another 30 years. I'm very happy with it; I thought that my former bed was tall, this one, even more so! Good thing I'm not short. Now, I need to buy 2 more bed pillows.

I used it once. I can't tell much of a difference but I will try again as I have a lot of Dawn and vinegar at the house.

Beautiful bed! I love the paint color on your walls too.

Meme, the cocoa brown came with the rental. Silver grey carpet. My color scheme is pink/purple seen in the floral Laura Ashley valences and matching lamp shade. It works (the cocoa) with this palate.

In addition to the beautiful bed, the colors are lovely.

Beautiful bed. I have the exact bedside table. Is that a dusty Rose slip-cover bedspread? LOVE IT and need one! My color scheme is dusty rose/purples/grays/silver.
congrats on your wonderful purchase.....you deserve it!

Love the bed. After 54 years married, we are still using what was my Father in law's bed, although we've bought 3 or 4 mattresses for it, the last less than a year ago.

In my guest room is the maple set my husband had in his room in the 40's--we had it refinished at a sheltered workshop and they did a great job--cost about $400 if I remember correctly--for dresser, chest on chest, and bed.

My other guest room (used by my granddaughter and my Mom in their sleepover days) is the only bedroom set I've ever bought new--single bed, dresser, small chest of drawers.

I'm not one to tire of things easily nor to discard useful things. If our set was in better shape I'd have it refinished too, but it isn't. Two lifetimes of use is enough for that one!

I did buy a sofa from Sofas and Chairs some years back but now that it's time to re-do it, their nearest store is 2.5 hours away--don't think I want to haul it that far. Thinking about shopping for a new one soon.I bought it thinking it was good quality and we would recover it. I like it but it's too far away. It has a short seat width because I'm only 5 ft tall! I can actually put my feet on the floor.

Some plans work out, others don't.

Do you have a hard time changing the bed with the footboard? I have a similar bed to yours but its honey oak. I hate changing the bedding with the footboard but maybe it is just me.
