Birthday meal, tried a new restaurant

Birthday meals are a choice of homemade meal of preference, sit down or take out restaurant meal of choice. One kidlet chose Whole Foods hot/prepared meal station. He certainly has eclectic tastes! I splurged at their build a burger station and had a grass fed beef burger and fries. Yum! Other kiddlet wants to go somewhere over the weekend.
Last night became dinner for one as the kids all celebrated the twins birthday over at Dad's for a cookout. I have been wanting to try a local (literally 3 minutes away from here), Chinese restaurant. I selected pork fried rice, shrimp chow mein, chicken lo mein, steamed dumplings, a Spring roll. Prices were reasonable, food was good. The noodles in the lo mein were thicker than I am used to, however. Not bad, just different.
Included were 4 "mini donuts" for lack of a better word. Interesting.

How neat that he chose the hot food bar at Whole Foods. I love to make a salad there on a special occasion. Definitely a treat. :)

The is "interesting" in the four donut holes! I would rather have the fortune cookies! Happy Birthday to the twins!
