Keys in hand

Met the new LL over at the house today, got to see the work that has been done in the past  2 weeks, and was advised as to what they will be finishing:

-carpets removed from all upstairs bedrooms, left on stairs/hall for sound prooofing heavy walkers. New pintrack installed at entrance to rooms to prevent tripping.
-new energy efficient windows throughout the home, new window trim installed
-new interior paint in all rooms and basement (a utility area)except Maaster BR which has a textured beige wallpaper (neutral)
-new toilets and vanities with new sinks in the 2 baths and 1/2 bath
-new (went from a small single to a double) shower in Master bath
-new tile floors in all baths
-new locks
-new refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave/vent hood combo
-new kitchen sink faucet AND a sprayer!
-new exhaust light/vents in both bathrooms
-new furnace
-new chimney flue liner for furnace
-new ceiling light fixtures in hallway
-plus lots of msc: burnt out lights replaced, undercabinet lights replaced, undercabinet can opener fixed etc.

After living with a less than responsive LL these past 2 years, this is a wonderful turn of events.

After going over the running of the house with the LL, I stopped at the auto supply store in the city to get additional keys made, then  off to Aldi's for sandwich fixings for tonight's supper, tomorrow's lunch. Final stop: Dunkin Donuts for donuts for the morning.

I'll be at the new rental by 7:30 a.m.  tomorrow as the cable company will be there for 8. Cleaning service arrives at 9:30 to work up an estimate. LL is also using their service to clean everything up today, including the inside of kitchen/bath cabinets. Beyond awesome!

I've been watching (not stalking, I promise) you for some time and keeping quiet. But I have to jump in here now and say I am thrilled for you!

You are pure grit and determination and I have learned (even at my age, which is old enough to be your momma) so much from you.

I hope everyone enjoys this new home and that life holds only good things in store for you from now on. Best wishes in your new home.

Thanks for the encouragement. Finding this rental just seemed to fall into place so quickly, it was meant to be it seems.

To quote a classic film, "Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

Hope this ll situation continues on the same high note as it seems to have begun. 8-)

Thanks Young 77, it's a new chapter for us. We will continue to live frugally, and hopefully be able to meet our collective and personal, financial goals. This will be the nicest home I have ever lived in-no lie.

I hope this find is an omen that life might get a little easier from now on! Having a nice new place to live should help everyone's mood. The landlord sounds fantastic.

So happy for you and your family.Enjoy that kitchen sink sprayer. :) I think your LL scored bit time by having you as tenant because you'll never be the type of person who lets problems with the house build into something big and expensive. When we moved into our little rented house there we're dozens of things that needed fixed and it looked to the LL that we were being pushy so much so that now LL doesn't fix things in a timely matter. As soon as lease is up we will be moving.

I admire you so much!!! You deserve a GREAT LL!!
