That's all folks!

Pulled an 8 oz baggie of fzn, 80% ground beef out of the freezer last night, to defrost for tonight. I paid $1.99/lb on marked down on 9/13/13. Using only 1/2 a lb, I have $1 worth of meat. I fried it off with some home made taco seasoning (salt free), added a rinsed and drained can of SR pinto beans, some water (1/4 cup or so) and am letting it boil off as it seasons the beans.

Meanwhile, some sale priced Romaine has been sliced.
The wrinkly sale priced grape tomatoes are sliced. Jars of home made taco sauce and salsa are out of the fridge. The Dollar Tree flour tortillas are warming up on the counter. The remaining 1 oz or so of Cheddar has been hand shredded. A new pkg of Australian imported sharp Cheddar (sale plus large coupon deal) has about 4 oz taken off of the block and is also now hand shredded, and has been mixed with the older Cheddar.

A can of SR corn has been drained and decanted to a vintage, Pyrex covered casserole, for quick and energy efficient reheating in the microwave.

Cheap eats for 4 tonight, stretching to about 2 oz beef per person. Thankfully, we all like beans. : )

Had PT this afternoon, filled the car on the way home: 7.5 gallons gas.

Good stuff!! I desperately need to get back on the "saving money on groceries" bandwagon as well!! And menu planning as i've been slacking there too... :(
