Le reveillon, round 2

Tonight, as well as Christmas Eve, are called "le Reveillon" and they are the only 2 times/year that I make, we eat tourtiere, something that we look forward to at the end of every year. Here is my family recipe:

Carol, I know only one other person who makes tourtiere for New Year's Eve. (Could be because I'm originally from the end of the US that's up against Mexico and not Canada.) I'd never heard of it before I met this friend. Myself, some years I make a medieval game pie. I read about it in Victoria magazine many, many years ago. Medieval game pie is also a meat pie, but also has a lot of onions, apples and dried fruit in it. Too much work for me tonight. It's homemade pizza and a library movie for us.
