January 2014 menus

January 2014: a cold month, that is just a few weeks away. Time to plan my dinner menus, relying heavily upon what is already on hand, to help reduce cost expendiures:

-crock pot (CP) beef stew, using fzn beef cubes, potatoes, onion, celery, carrots
split pea soup (use fzn meaty ham bone)
-baked chicken thighs (fzn), brown rice, green beans
-tuna casserole, salad
-CP beef (fzn) chilli (use fzn precooked dried pintos), canned tomatoes; corn bread
-spaghetti with CP cooked, fzn homemade meatballs in homemade marinara; fzn broccoli
-corn chowder using creamed corn, saltines
-pork chop stuffing  bake (fzn meat), squash
-broiled salmon fillets (fzn), brown rice, mixed vegetables
-pate chinois (a Fr Canadian cottage pie), cabbage/apple/raisin slaw
-dried tortellini in chicken broth, biscuits (use homemade Bisquick)
-homemade pizza
-clam chowder using canned clams, saltines
-roast turkey breast (fzn), mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, peas( fzn) and fresh carrots
-baked horseradish encrusted Tilapia fillets (fzn), rice mix, Creole cabbage
-CP turkey chilli
-turkey tettrazini, green salad
-lentil soup
-meatloaf (use fzn beef, fzn ground turkey), scalloped potatoe mix, beets
-creamed salmon (use canned), boiled potatoes, pea (fzn)
-ground chicken (fzn) burgers (make buns ahead of time), homemade oven fries, coleslaw
-Marcia Adam's ham loaf (use fz pork sausage and fzn ground ham), mashed potatoes, green and waxed beans

So far, besides the usual restocking of OJ, eggs, milk, 1/2 and 1/2, coffee . .I anticipate needing very little:
sour cream, carrots, potatoes, onions, cabbage, apple, flour. It'll be another use it up/eat it down month, as we will have high heating bills and I need to build up cash savings in my checking account.
