More college boy mending

After washing DS's jeans, I noted this tear/worn area in his jeans.
I grabbed my bag of jean material scraps, cut off a suitable piece and turning it under on all 4 sides, sewed the edges under.

I then sewed the newly made patch over the worn area. Took me all of 5 minutes, tops, and the jeans are better off for it.

I have a pile of my sons pants to fix this weekend also. He was going to take them to the tailor but I told him I would do it for him this weekend if he would get all the crap together from the garage and take it around front. Seems like a fair trade.

His are dress pants so hopefully I can just turn the hem, I am going to do a heavy duty stitch on his pockets since he has wholes in every pocket and sew all his buttons back on with a heavy duty thread left over from when my grandmom worked at a carpet factory. Hopefully it all comes out as well as yours!
