Tuesday's planned over meal and trying out the new Crock Pot!
Tonight's planned over, use it before we lose it, clean out type dinner: stroganoff! Ingredients: a bag of egg noodles (sale plus cpn), some l/o cooked noodles, 3 crimini mushrooms, a fzn block of onion-mushroom-beef gravy, a Pyrex aqua blue dish with l/o pot roast gravy, a large onion, black pepper, a lb container with l/o pot roast, a baggie with some Parsley, a Summer squash, a can of "healthy choice" cream of mush soup, a can of beets, a l/o steak.
Dump can of soup, 1/2 a can of water, 1/3 cup instant milk ( used as I have no sour cream), black pepper and pot roast gravy into awaiting CP.
Whisk to blend.
Add frozen block of onion-mush-beef gravy and stir to combine.
Chop up 1/2 of the onion, and slice the 3 mushrooms. Stir into sauce.
This easily represents 2 servings of meat. I am stretching it, however, to feed 5 tonight. I thinly sliced the steak and pot roast.
Add meat to the sauce
Stir to combine, allow to cook on high for one hour, then simmer all afternoon. We will be away with medical appointments, but home before the dinner hour, with time to cook the bag of noodles and add them, along with the l/o noodles, to the CP and sprinkle fresh parsley on top. I can then prep the beets and Summer squash, with dinner being served at the usual time.
Just a few minutes of hands on time and supper is ready!
