Frugality in practice

I store brown paper bags inbetween the spindle tear off part of the wooden paper towel holder and the actual roll of paper towels. This way, it is a visual reminder to grab this Kraft paper for draining foods, in lieu of a paper towel. The paper used this morning was originally a Dunkin Donuts bag.

This works just fine, cost me $0, saves from having to reach for a paper towel, spending $. I have found that I use about 1 roll to 1 1/2 rolls a year. Some do that in a week. I actually had to purchase paper towels recently, and grabbed a 2 count bundle from Aldi's. I forget the price, but is was under $2
